What better way to start off the yea and this new blog with a monthly favorites post for the month of January. So here's a list of things I have been loving of the past month.
Measurable Differences Rose Hip Oil: Lately I've been struggling with dry patches on my face, so I went on a hunt for something to hydrate my face a little more. I found this little gem and it not only smells amazing, but it really gives my skin a natural glow. It's lightweight and non-greasy so my face doesn't feel like an oily mess. I've noticed it's helped with calming and smoothening out the texture in my face as well. I've used it almost every day and I've barely even made a dent in the bottle.
Neutrogena hydrating make up wipes: These also smell super good and removes my make up (including my waterproof make up) with ease. The only issue I have with it is that I run out so fast so I either might have to get it in bulk somehow or switch to a liquid make up remover. I've heard good things about the Simple Micellar water. Please comment below any recommendations or suggestions you might have!
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops in Dew You?: I am OBSESSED with this. I had been seeing this floating around social media for awhile, but I couldn't get myself to splurge until I watched Kristin John's November favorites video in December. I love an intense highlight so I had to try it! Sometimes I'll wear it alone if I'm trying to go for a more natural look but whenever I wear it under my powder highlight I look like a glazed donut, which I am 100% okay with.
Loreal Lash Paradise in blackest black: I saw this mascara that looked super similar to Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara at the drug store and I immediately fell in love with it. The formula is so smooth and glides onto the lashes really nice while also giving that extra volume. My lashes stick out straight which makes it hard for me to achieve that so that was what sold me. The only thing I would be careful about is making sure the tube is tightly closed because I've noticed that it can dry out pretty quickly if it's not sealed all the way.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer: I'm pretty naturally tan olive skin which can be difficult when finding the right bronzer because sometimes it can be too light that you can't see it or too dark that it looks unnatural. I used Too Faced's Chocolate Soleil bronzer for the longest time until I hit pan and wanted to try a new one. So I did my research and ended up with this one. I don't love the packaging (which is usually what reels me in) but it has become my perfect go-to bronzer.
overalls: I'm 5'2 so it is a struggle finding pants that fit me perfectly without the end of the pant leg bunching up, so I was pretty stoked when I found overall pants that were just the right size and length at PacSun. I would probably wear them every day if I could.
striped shirts: I think striped shirts are such a staple item. You can wear them up or where them down depending on what you pair with them. They're so simple but they add a little texture to any outfit that a plain white t just lacks. You can never have enough.
booties: Another must-have! Converse are usually my go-to but I have recently gained a love for booties. These two pairs are from Buckle and they're the perfect addition. They look super cute with church dresses or even with pants and a t-shirt to make it look like I tried a little.
Easy Tiger 2018 Planner: I thought I wouldn't love a planner as much as I loved the Passion Planner, but this is definitely up there. It's aesthetically pleasing, efficient, and convenient. It's the perfect size of my purse and allows me to write my daily and monthly schedule with a small notes section and a section for my to-do's for the day. Plus on every daily page it says what's special about that day like Cheese Lover's Day or National Donut Day, along with what famous person has that date as their birthdate. Definitely my kind of planner. Something you'll learn about me in this blog is that I love planners, notebooks, and all things stationary.
The Daily Question My 5-Year Spiritual Journal: One of my favorite finds at my local Marshall's. I've always been scared of doing these 5-year journal things because I knew there would be days I would forget to do it, which I am totally guilty of doing, but I thought it would be such a cool thing to look back on over the next 5 years. It would be like a time machine where I could see when/where I was struggling and how I was growing. Maybe I'll read something I wrote previously that I really needed to be reminded of.
A La Minute Chocolate Chip ice cream: For the longest time I stayed away from this place because I knew it was just overly expensive ice cream. Then one day I thought I'd stop by and try it just once because they were having a $4 deal, which ended up being the best and the worst idea. Worst because I have gone there multiple times a week for the past month, but best because their Chocolate Chip flavor is SO good. I'm not really a sweets or ice cream person but I would have to say this is my favorite ice cream of all time.
The Greatest Showman soundtrack: Though this movie got a 55% on Rotten Tomatoes, I actually liked it for its super clean choreography and music. I'm usually not a musical kind of girl but I couldn't deny the catchy songs like Rewrite the Stars with Zac Efron and Zendaya, and This is Me with Keala Settle. They're feel-good tunes and the choreography is just ties it all together.
